A major component of the Campaign Manager (Marketing Specialist) role will be to manage all elements of the capacity campaign in partnership with the campaign fundraising partners, the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and organising programs and campaigns to contribute to the generation of income to the agreed budget for Major Giving, specifically income from existing mid-value direct mail donors and new major donors.
  • Advising on strategies and campaigns to contribute to the development of a pipeline of Major Donors to ensure effective relationships management, moves management and stewardship of these donors.
  • the development of the ZERO Childhood Cancer, Capacity Campaign strategy and work with the Major Giving Manager on the development of a nurturing strategy for high value donors and pledgers, and its consultants and liaising with Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.
  • To analyse data within the donor database system to see patterns and preferences and use these findings to predict current and future trends and for the development of strategies and campaigns
  • To take responsibility for key relationship management of all new donors connected with the ZERO Childhood Cancer Capacity Campaign and to develop a regular communication program for all capacity campaign pledgers
  • Working with the Major Giving Manager and other members of the Fundraising team, contribute to the overall strategic development of the Fundraising program and work in partnership with Children’s Cancer Institute’s external fundraising agencies as they devise and consult on the best strategic direction for the Institute’s fundraising programs
  • To ensure that appropriate response handling mechanisms are in place, and to ensure that Supporter Care is appropriately briefed to handle queries which might arise.
  • To undertake other tasks and duties as may reasonably be requested by the Head of Fundraising and Marketing

Qualifications, experience and skills required:

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally with demonstrated capability in marketing and communications.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing the importance of major giving to donors and to make a major gift ask in person
  • A friendly and persuasive communicator with the ability to engage in a one to one communication with Children’s Cancer Institute’s supporters

Experience and requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Not-for-profit Fundraising and Marketing in the areas of major giving
  • Experience in generating income through major donor marketing programs.
  • Experience of working on existing supporter/customer and marketing programs, and prospecting programs and identifying prospective donors
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and budgets
  • Flexible attitude to work
  • High standard of personal grooming and presentation
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to work unsupervised and participate in a team
  • Be able to identify possible opportunities and threats to the efficient management of the ZCC Capacity campaign program
